Sam, Dario and Elon have all agreed to slow down on AI acceleration

The pace of AI development is becoming a major industry discussion.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has called for the AI industry to “pace the frontier”, arguing for stronger safeguards and independent evaluation as increasingly capable AI systems are developed.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said pacing the frontier has been a major topic of discussion at OpenAI and agreed with the idea of using independent evaluators with employee-level access.

Elon Musk also responded in agreement with Amodei’s position.

This raises an important question: Should frontier AI development slow down, or should companies continue pushing capabilities as quickly as possible?
