I Don't Care How Many Features an AI Tool Has
I care whether it actually makes my work easier.
When I test a new AI tool, I usually start with a task I already do manually.
For example:
Turn a messy research document into structured notes.
Then I compare the process.
Without AI:
How long does it take?
With AI:
How long does it take?
Then I look at something people often forget:
How much editing is needed afterward?
If a tool gives me an answer in 30 seconds but I spend another 20 minutes correcting and restructuring it, the time saved isn't as impressive as the demo made it look.
That's why I think the better question isn't
How many features does this tool have?
It's: Does this tool improve something I actually do?
A tool doesn't have to replace an entire workflow to be useful. Sometimes saving 15 minutes from one repetitive task is enough to make it worth keeping.
Test the tool against your real workflow, not its feature page.
