AI Can Talk. Can It Actually Run a Business?
I’ve been thinking more about the Hindi voice agent idea from my last post.
The more I think about it, the less I’d want to build it as a general AI voice agent.
I’d probably start with one specific industry, like clinics.
Instead of just answering calls, it could handle appointment booking, common patient questions, reminders, and missed-call follow-ups.
Because the real question isn’t whether we can build an AI that talks, that part is becoming easier.
The harder part is making a small business actually depend on it.
If a clinic is paying ₹1,499 every month, the agent needs to either save staff time, recover missed calls, or bring in more appointments.
That’s where I think the real moat could be — not the voice, but the workflows, integrations, and industry-specific knowledge.
Would you build it for one industry first or keep it general?
