About

Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a nationwide innovation and problem-solving initiative that provides students with a platform to develop technology-based solutions for real-world challenges.
The hackathon brings together students, educational institutions, government ministries, departments, industries and organizations to work on practical problem statements. Participants are expected to understand a specific challenge, develop an innovative solution and demonstrate a functional prototype or technology-based implementation.

The programme covers both Software and Hardware problem statements and has featured challenges from government organizations, ministries, state governments, industries and other participating organizations.

SIH is designed to encourage innovation, creativity, teamwork and practical problem-solving, while helping students move from an idea toward a viable technology solution. Official SIH materials describe the objective as developing solutions to real-world problems and promoting out-of-the-box thinking
